Our company's opinion regarding maintenance: Although seat/plug repair is possible, we do not recommend it. There is a 0.5mm stellite coating on the seat/plug surfaces. The original hardness of the coating is 50-55 HRC. On worn surfaces, the coating wears away and disappears over time due to steam flow, and abrasive wear and pitting occurs on the seat/plug surfaces. If you try to repair this with weld filler it will have to be done with laser welding. After the hardness reaches 45HRC, surface cleaning cannot be achieved in accordance with the original during turning and grinding. This shortens the working life of the valve. The method our company uses is the remanufacturing of the seat ring and plug tip. Special imported certified Swedish Steel is used in the manufacturing method. This is hot work steel. It is first processed softly, then vacuum heat treated, reaching a hardness of 55HRC. Contacting surfaces are ground and assembled. It is suitable to use this steel in seat/plug manufacturing. It works under temperature and pressure for a long time, the optimum continuous operating temperature is 750°C. The maximum operating temperature is 1100°C. Continuous operation at maximum temperature is not recommended. If it is exercised, its hardness decreases over time. It is possible to give hardness again. If our offer is accepted, a characteristic report, type and certificate of the material will be provided.
